The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) announced the recipients of this year’s NextGen Awards, which recognize talented and transformative individuals under the age of 40 who are having a positive impact on their organizations and the workers’ compensation industry.
Healthesystems is proud to announce that Amanda Waltemath, PharmD, MPH, was among the NextGen Award recipients.
Dr. Waltemath has spent over 10 years in the workers’ comp industry, applying her diverse clinical and analytical skills in the development and support of programs that improve the injured worker’s treatment experience and reduce medication-related risk at a population level, as well as through individual engagement.
In addition to her duties at Healthesystems, Dr. Waltemath serves as a mentor, educator and thought leader, both in her local community – serving as preceptor for multiple colleges of pharmacy, and assisting in coordination of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Drug Information and Managed Care electives and maintenance of course content – and within the broader workers’ comp industry – serving as a frequent speaker at industry conferences on clinical topics such as pain management, specialty drug trends, and emerging issues in prescription drug therapies.
