Virginia House Bill 1313 was introduced, which would update the state’s existing PTSD presumption for first responders to cover pre-existing PTSD that is exacerbated by traumatic incidents that occur in the line of duty.
The bill would require that a mental health professional examine the patient and diagnose them with PTSD or exacerbation of pre-existing PTSD due to a qualifying incident that resulted in the scope of their work.
