Back to Regulatory Recap
Governor John Stitt signed Oklahoma Senate Bill 95 into law, which eliminates the requirement for employers to provide workers’ comp coverage for unpaid temporary workers who are working to observe a work environment and gain work experience.
Oklahoma law provides a list of workers who are not considered employees and who do not require workers’ comp coverage. This includes certain agricultural workers, family members working for small businesses, real estate workers, and others; the aforementioned temp workers have now been added to that list.
The bill will go into effect November 1, 2025.
