Back to Regulatory Recap
On April 7th, the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) withdrew proposed amendments to outpatient medication reimbursement rules for state-fund claims, 4123-6-21 and self-insuring employers, 4123-6-21.1.
Originally filed in October 2024, the amendments aimed to adjust AWP discount rates and standardize dispensing fees, with annual reviews by BWC.
Despite the rules accommodating state-fund claims, stakeholder concerns about implementation for self-insured claims led to suspension of the rules in December and the eventual withdrawal. Any future changes will require BWC to restart the rulemaking process.
