Nevada Schedules Workshop to Review Reform Rule Changes

Back to Regulatory Recap

The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations (DIR) will hold a hybrid public workshop on December 17th at 10:00 AM PST to gather comments on proposed rules implementing changes required by Senate Bill 317, a comprehensive workers’ compensation reform bill impacting insurers and medical providers.

This workshop will not cover the ODG Drug Formulary. The agenda will focus on Proposed Permanent Regulations NAC 616A through 617. Key proposed changes include:

  • Insurers must submit provider lists electronically each year in a standardized, searchable format, eliminating the DIR’s electronic database submission process
  • The DIR will no longer assign identification numbers to physicians or chiropractors appointed to the panel
  • Treating physicians and chiropractic physicians may delegate routine follow-up care to physician assistants
  • Clarity of clerical and ministerial violations, along with related administrative penalties.

These changes will impact how provider panels are managed in Nevada, and monitoring final rulemaking is essential to stay compliant with submission requirements.

Stakeholders may submit comments before the workshop by email to amwilliams@dir.nv.gov. After reviewing feedback, DIR will schedule a public hearing on the proposal.
