Nevada Assembly Bill 469, aimed at revising insurer-maintained provider panels for injured workers, has died, missing the committee deadline per Joint Standing Rule 14.3.1.
The bill would have divided the state into three geographic regions for provider lists. Panels would only be required to have five providers instead of 12, and insurers would be required to honor providers’ voluntary removal requests. The bill would have prevented involuntary provider removal without good cause, allowing injured workers to retain their provider despite insurer changes
Additionally, the bill would have permitted telehealth providers who met specific criteria.
Passage of this bill would have expanded provider options for injured workers and improved access to care, particularly in rural areas.
