Montana May Recognize Physical Therapists as Treating Physicians

Go to Advocacy & Compliance Home

Montana Senate Bill 109 was introduced, which would expand the definition of "treating physician" in workers' comp to include licensed physical therapists.

If passed, this bill would grant physical therapists the same rights as treating physicians, recognizing them as key providers responsible for delivering and coordinating a worker's medical care. Supporters of this bill argue that broadening this definition would improve access to care and streamline the treatment process for injured workers.
