Louisiana Fee Schedule Bill Amended with Hopes of Compromise

Back to Regulatory Recap

Healthesystems attended the Louisiana’s Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee meeting on April 23, 2025, to follow testimony on Senate Bill 213.

The bill aims to standardize workers’ comp reimbursement rates by replacing UCR rates with fixed RVU codes and statutory multipliers, while streamlining medical billing disputes with an efficient resolution process.

Louisiana’s workers’ comp fee schedule has not been updated in over 30 years, and supporters of Senate Bill 213 state that it will improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency by standardizing reimbursement rates and streamlining medical dispute resolution. However, after eight months of stakeholder collaboration, the bill still faces opposition.

In response, the bill sponsor introduced amendments and invited further constructive feedback from stakeholders. To allow time for review and additional input, the bill has been deferred for one week.
