Back to Regulatory Recap
Massachusetts Senate Bill 1355 was introduced, which would require employers to create safety plans for workers exposed to extreme temperatures.
The bill includes rules for temperatures above 80 degrees Fahrenheit and below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Employers would be required to display thermometers in work areas, provide breaks in shaded areas with access to water, supply personal protective equipment, conduct training, maintain data on temperature-related illnesses which occur on the job, and more.
