New York Considers Presumption for Opioid Overdose Deaths

New York Assembly Bill 4457 was introduced, proposing a workers’ comp presumption for opioid-related deaths. If enacted, the bill would make such deaths compensable if the deceased worker had been prescribed opioids for a workplace injury.

The law would go into effect immediately upon passage.
