The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation published a new bulletin that requires an AI disclosure in litigation filing with the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
As of August 17th, any litigant, party, or attorney who files any pleading, motion, brief, or other document to the Board, must include the following statement, in bold print, prominently display on the first page of the filing, if that document includes any content written by an AI tool: This document includes content written by an artificial intelligence tool.
This new development is particularly relevant, as recently some regulators have reported seeing an increasing number of unrepresented injured workers filing legal disputes, likely due to assistance from AI tools. Some workers’ comp judges have raised concerns about these types of pro se filings further piling onto already backlogged calendars.
