Healthesystems participated in the October 8th listening sessions hosted by the Colorado Division of Workers’ Compensation (DoWC), held to gather feedback on the implementation of House Bill 1300 (2025).
House Bill 1300, effective January 1, 2028, introduces major reforms to the Colorado workers’ comp system, impacting several established models. The October 8th listening session focused on the use of in-house clinics and provider list options for employers and insurers.
The DoWC clarified that employers and insurers may share preferred or in-house provider lists but must also provide the Division’s panel and avoid steering workers toward employer-specific clinics. According to the bill, injured workers will be allowed to choose any Level I or II accredited provider from the Division’s panel.
This interpretation was broadly supported, with calls for rules that protect provider choice and educate employees before injuries occur.
Stakeholders urged rulemaking to begin in 2026 to allow time for education and system readiness, though the DoWC intends to start in late 2027.
The next listening sessions will be held on October 22nd and November 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM MT. Registration is required.
By participating in these listening sessions, Healthesystems gains early insight into stakeholder perspectives and regulatory direction, allowing us to proactively align strategies and support our partners ahead of formal rulemaking
