Tennessee Expands PTSD Benefits for First Responders

Back to Regulatory Recap

Governor Bill Lee signed Tennessee House Bill 310 into law, expanding workers' comp benefits for first responders diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Effective July 1, 2025, law enforcement officers and emergency medical responders will receive the same benefits as firefighters, with a presumption that PTSD was incurred in the line of duty. The legislation aims to strengthen mental health support for those who serve on the front lines.
