Back to Regulatory Recap
On April 1st, Healthesystems attended the Florida Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) public hearing where stakeholders were able to voice concerns about the Florida Workers’ Compensation Health Care Provider Reimbursement Manual, 2024 Edition.
Promised by the DWC last year, this meeting allowed stakeholders to raise issues that couldn’t be addressed during the previous rulemaking due to time constraints in finalizing the manual for adoption by January 1, 2025.
Key topics discussed included:
- Clarifying definitions for prior authorization and health care providers
- Concerns over whether physician dispensing rules would remain unchanged
- Calls for more specificity in medical record documentation, with DWC requesting language suggestions
The Division stated that all comments will be considered in an upcoming research project to help guide future actions. The public comment period ended April 8th.
