For the 24th year, the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) conducted their Annual Carrier Executive Survey, this year surveying over 100 carriers.
Four top industry concerns were noted:
- The financial health of the workers’ comp system
- Medical inflation
- Economic uncertainty
- The changing workforce and workplace
The NCCI has analyzed various metrics to understand the financial health of the workers’ comp system, with all signs indicating strong health.
As for medical inflation, the impact on workers’ comp has been moderate in the 2.5-3.5% range, as inflation in the workers’ comp industry differs than general inflation due to fee schedules.
NCCI plans to publish additional insights regarding these top concerns in the coming future.
