Go to Advocacy & Compliance Home

New York Assembly Bill A8947B and Senate Bill S8358C were signed, enacting the Retail Worker Safety Act into law.

Retail employers will be required to provide training and information to employees based on a model workplace violence prevention training program produced by the state’s Department of Labor.

This law applies to businesses with at least 10 employees, giving those businesses 180 days to comply. Retail employers with 500 or more employees must provide access to a silent alarm for emergency assistance by January 1, 2027.
