On March 31, Louisiana introduced a bill (HB 1101) that would change how Medical Maximum Improvement (MMI) is defined and how wage-loss benefits are paid. The bill seeks to clarify when an employee’s condition is unlikely to considerably improve – even with ongoing treatment. It also cuts the duration of wage-loss benefits.
