Missouri Proposes Fee Schedule

Back to Regulatory Recap

Missouri introduced Senate Bill 1052, which would require the Division of Workers’ Compensation or the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission to establish a maximum fee schedule for all services provided under the state’s workers’ compensation law.

The bill would replace the current “fair and reasonable” reimbursement standard and require a formal rulemaking process. Moving to a defined fee schedule would align Missouri with most other states and improve cost predictability for payers. Furthermore, the rulemaking process creates an opportunity to engage with regulators during the development of the new fee schedule, helping ensure appropriate reimbursement and effective cost management standards.

Once implemented, all workers’ comp medical fees would be required to comply with the established schedule. The bill is currently pending before the Senate General Laws Committee. If enacted, it would take effect August 28, 2026.
