Virginia House Bill 406 was introduced, which proposes that employers to pay 66% of a spouse’s average weekly wage (capped at 80% of state average) if the spouse must reduce work or leave employment to provide in‑home care for a law‑enforcement officer with a qualifying line‑of‑duty injury.
If enacted, this bill would go into effect January 1, 2027.
